Mountain Air Mindfulness was the dream of Drs. Alisa Burpee and Andrea Neal, conceived over a strong cup of coffee on a misty morning in Seattle, to share a passion for mindfulness in a practical way with the Seattle and Eastside community. Dr. Neal and Dr. Burpee are licensed clinical psychologists who specialize in cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based treatments for adults. Dr. Burpee and Dr. Neal have 16 combined years of teaching mindfulness to individuals and groups and 30 combined years of personal mindfulness practice.
Dr. Burpee is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from Seattle Pacific University. Dr. Burpee completed her pre-doctoral internship at the VA Pacific Island Health Care System and has taught mindfulness in community mental health, primary care, and private practice settings.
Dr. Neal has taught mindfulness techniques in DBT classes and to veterans groups with PTSD, as well as to individual therapy clients. She has attended mindfulness meditation retreats and workshops with meditation teachers such as Thich Nhat Hanh, Jack Kornfield, Sharon Salzberg, and Tara Brach.
